Early in the season, High Bar was definitely Michigan’s Achilles heal. But the wolverines have worked their butts off this season, and have made such great improvement that they finished yesterday’s preliminaries with the highest high bar score of any team (72.35).
Going into high bar, UM has a 298.45, beating second place OU by over 4 points! (OU has a 294.0). Sam struggled with high bar yesterday; if he can hit like he does in practice, expect a score to rival his 16.05 parallel bars score! Indeed, Sam is currently dominating the all-around competition with a nearly 2 point lead (1.95) over Stanford’s Akash Modi.
